Case study #1 Yacht
The Challenge
With only the wealthiest in the world able to afford them the people usually looking to purchase a luxury yacht can be some of the most demanding customers in the world, which is understandable when you realise these are goods that can easily carry a seven figure price tag.
With all that in mind it is essential the finish is flawless, not only does the client want the very best for their money but the builder also wants to make sureit doesn’t look out of place in the harbors of Cannes, Monaco or the British Virgin Islands. In order to help accelerate the decorative phase of manufacture boat builders will often use industrial electric fan heaters to provide additional heat and therefore speed up the paint drying.
The Solution
In this particular case the boat builder had created a huge temporary structure around the yacht and dry dock and wanted to create a warm, dry environment within it so that the finishing coatings would all cure quickly. Because of the volume of air that had to be treated and the poor insulation of the ‘marquee’ then it was decided two FF42 42kW industrial fan heaters would be needed. Not only are they built to withstand site use but the powerful forward curved impellors can deliver large volumes of air at much higher pressures than standard fan heaters, an essential requirement for this application as the warm air had to come from the heaters and be fed into desiccant dehumidifiers to remove moisture, before finally being fed into the area around the boat. Two large VFK style ventilation units were then used to create a consistent circulation so the drying times were uniform across the build and there was no need to alter the paint application process.

Another glorious luxury yacht and a happy boat builder.

As well as baggage handlers and fuel tanker drivers will be people working in hangars, carrying out essential safety checks and maintenance, and with difficult working conditions during the colder months it is absolutely essential these, huge, draughty environments are kept within the range demanded by legislation.
